Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Beliq API, dashboard, and related services (the "Service"). This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. Violations of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your account.
1. Purpose
Beliq provides an API for generating, validating, parsing, and converting EU-compliant electronic invoices. This AUP ensures the Service remains secure, reliable, and fair for all users. You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with this AUP.
2. Prohibited Content
You may not submit content to the Service that:
- Violates applicable laws or regulations, including but not limited to laws regarding intellectual property, privacy, data protection, tax fraud, or consumer protection
- Is intended to create fraudulent, forged, or misleading invoices or financial documents
- Contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to computer systems
- Is intended for phishing, fraud, impersonation, or other deceptive practices
- Violates the privacy of third parties, including publishing personal data without consent
3. Prohibited Activities
You may not:
- Use the Service in a manner that disrupts, degrades, or impairs its availability, performance, or functionality for other users
- Attempt to circumvent or bypass authentication, rate limits, quotas, or other technical restrictions
- Access or attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that do not belong to you
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without prior written authorization
- Use the Service to generate documents intended to deceive or defraud (e.g., forged invoices, counterfeit tax documents, fraudulent financial records)
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service beyond normal API usage
- Use multiple free accounts to circumvent plan limitations
- Intentionally trigger excessive error conditions or exploit bugs for personal gain
4. Rate Limits and Fair Use
API requests are subject to per-minute rate limits and monthly document quotas as defined by your subscription plan. You agree to:
- Respect the rate limits and quota associated with your plan
- Implement appropriate retry logic with exponential backoff when receiving HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests) responses
- Not submit requests with excessively large payloads designed to consume disproportionate resources
5. Security
You are responsible for the security of your API keys and account credentials. You must:
- Keep your API keys confidential and not share them publicly (e.g., in client-side code, public repositories)
- Rotate API keys if you suspect they have been compromised
- Not perform security testing, penetration testing, or vulnerability scanning against our infrastructure without prior written permission

6. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any use of the Service that violates this AUP, please report it to us at hello@beliq.eu. We will investigate reports promptly and take appropriate action.
7. Enforcement
We reserve the right to take any action we deem appropriate in response to violations of this AUP, including but not limited to:
- Issuing a warning
- Temporarily suspending your account or API access
- Permanently terminating your account
- Reporting violations to law enforcement authorities
We may take immediate action without prior notice where we reasonably believe that a violation poses an imminent risk to the Service, its users, or third parties.
8. Changes to This AUP
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 14 days before taking effect.
